Hardening in protective environments

Quenching with heating in a salt bath furnace

solynaya pech vanna

We offer services for processing parts in a protective environment of a quenching salt bath. Heating to the quenching temperature during such processing occurs in a specially developed salt composition. At the same time, oxidation processes on parts and scale formation are reduced to a minimum or do not occur at all. When unloading parts from the salt melt, a thin protective film is formed on the surface, which prevents the effects of oxygen from the atmosphere, and during quenching itself, it is spontaneously removed from the processed products.

Quenching in protective coatings

We perform quenching using protective technological coatings that protect parts from oxidation and decarburization during high-temperature heating for quenching. When cooling, due to different coefficients of linear expansion, the coating spontaneously peels off from the parts being processed, which eliminates the need for additional cleaning of the parts. The coating is applied by dipping or spraying in two stages with intermediate drying for 10-20 minutes, the parts are pre-cleaned from dirt and oil, and also heated for better adhesion of the coating to the surface. The use of protective coatings during heat treatment allows for non-oxidative heating of virtually any parts, which in turn helps to reduce the consumption of expensive cutting tools, reduce the labor intensity of mechanical processing, and, consequently, the cost of manufacturing parts.
